LCCI Examinations Board and Association of International Accountants--New Initiative The LCCI Examinations Board (LCCIEB) and the Association of International Accountants (AIA) have formed the Society of International Accounting Technicians (SIAT), a global professional membership body for those who wish to become qualified International Accounting Technicians. The partnership of these two specialist bodies provides SIAT members with a great opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised qualification, which combines a group of standard LCCIEB examinations with a period of work experience to ensure that members are able to apply the knowledge they have gained in the workplace. They also benefit from SIAT’s global professional membership services, which enable them to be part of the international accounting community and access a wide range of employment and business opportunities. Exemptions from some or all of the SIAT examinations may be available depending on the nature of the qualifications already held. For example, direct entry to Associate Membership of SIAT is available for holders of the LCCIEB Level 3 Group Diploma in Accounting if they have one-year relevant work experience. I am confident that this new partnership between LCCIEB and AIA will bring more business to the LCCIEB Centres in your area. The quarterly LCCIEB newsletter to Centres, which is going out shortly, includes brief details of SIAT, including the fact that Centres will be entitled to 10% of the membership fees arising from applications for membership received via their Centres.
