Online ELSA to be demonstrated at ARELS Fair
Online ELSA to be demonstrated at ARELS Fair 8 July 2003 LCCI Examinations Board is sponsoring the 34th International Languages and Education UK Fair, to be held in the Brighton Metropole 26-28 August 2003. The Fair is organised by the Association of Recognised English Language Services (ARELS) and is aimed at education providers, agents and others in the study travel industry. At the event LCCIEB will be showcasing the new online English Language Skills Assessment (ELSA) Speaking test. This revolutionary new test uses the latest ’Powered by GOAL’ technology to capture candidate responses via a microphone attached to a computer. On completion of the test candidate responses are uploaded onto a database ready to be marked by an ELSA examiner online. This new computerised version of the ELSA speaking test offers a number of additional benefits to the tape based assessment. It improves the flexibility of test delivery, as tests can be taken on demand at any time, and it significantly increases the speed at which the test can be marked and results returned to the employer or candidate. Online testing will increase the demand of the test from the corporate sector as employers require the versatility of a test that can be taken at any time, with rapid turnaround of results. For further information on the ELSA speaking test visit the LCCIEB stand at the International Languages and Education UK Fair, or come along to the ELSA presentation on 26 August 2003.
